Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)

Today is 9/11.  Eighteen years ago today, America witnessed pure evil as we were attacked in the air and on the ground in one of the worst tragedies in our history.

After talking about the events of that fateful day, the student created a Lego "replica" of the World Trade Center.  We compared it to the Wells Fargo Building, the largest building in Salt Lake City.  Here is how it turned out.  (Note: These are not entirely to scale, but close enough for our needs.)

The Wells Fargo Building - 422 feet (24 floors)

1 World Trade Center - 1,368 feet (104 floors)

Side by side comparison:

As a side note, the entire square here represents the base of the WTC.  The little square in the middle would be the area of the Wells Fargo Building.
