Spirits in the Material World

The past two weeks in Social Studies, we have been discussing the Native American people.  The students have learned about many tribes, including the Navajo, Hopi, Cherokee and Anasazi.

To finish off the teaching, the students created their own kachina doll.  A kachina is a spirit being for the Hopi tribe.  The dolls the students created were out of paper and a paper roll.  Real kachina dolls are collectors items and go for a few hundred dollars.
